MHSRS Award Recipient

CARE is honored to receive the Outstanding Research Accomplishment/Team-Academia-Industry award from the Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS). CARE Principal Investigators, Dr. Thomas McAllister (Indiana University),  Dr. Michael McCrea (Medical College of Wisconsin), Dr. Steve Broglio (University of Michigan), and Dr. Paul Pasquina (Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences), along with the CARE Consortium Site PIs have been presented this prestigious award.

MHSRS awards honor excellence in medical warfighter-related research at this annual meeting, which is sponsored by the Department of Defense Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs.

CARE is one of six teams recognized by Military Health at MHSRS in 2021. This symposium usually brings together medical professional and researchers from across the nation to discuss scientific advancements related to DOD-sponsored research, but due to COVID-19, the symposium was cancelled.

The CARE Consortium Team is recognized for significant contributions to the identification of diagnostic and prognostic indicators for traumatic brain injury. […] Findings from CARE Consortium studies will have a tremendous impact on this field of science for years to come, with significant implications for the Warfighter.

Many thanks to all involved in the consortium for their efforts and contributions!
